Lewis showed a basic level of research and planning. Although he was able to recognise issues with time management within his group, he did little to resolve them. His research into other products and a potential target audience is minimal. Communication skills are basic. Lewis was reminded several times of writing in the appropriate way for his coursework blog. There is evidence of basic use of IT and no evidence of storyboarding/layouts/scripting on the blog, although I am aware this was completed at a basic level. There is just about enough evidence of proficient creative ability in the technical skill areas to award this video a level 3 grade. The opening shot is steady and well framed, however there is a huge issue with editing throughout the video. The syncing of audio is completly out. The shots use a variety of distances but they don't seem to fit in with the timing of the music. There are some good transitions between shots and evidence that the group made good use of the technology available to them. The narrative is clear and meaning is apparent to the viewer.Lewis took the lead in editing the final video piece. His subsidiary texts were a little rushed and there is not much evidence that they have researched similar products in the planning stage. The DVD cover is well balanced and appropriate to task, however the magazine ad is reminiscent of the country and western genre due to the chosen font and image similar to a 'wanted' poster. Lewis has received slightly higher marks than other members of the group to reflect the effort he put into creating all three texts.
Personally, I like this. The use of black and white is very good as it puts across the message in the song well.
